On monday, march 20, the second Warc researchers mini-seminar was held for
the Wara Travel Grant awardee and Phd candidate from the University of California,
Berkeley, Rachel Sullivan, whose researches
focus on "Population Policy Determinants in Nigeria
and Senegal". The session was well organised and coordinated
by Dr Ibrahima Seck, Aroa Secretary General, and specialists of population issues
and policies from the department of Geography, University Cheikh Anta Diop,
along with other local and foreign researchers attended and gave very useful
feedbacks to Miss Sullivan. The latter profusely thanked Warc and told the Director
that the mini-seminar was an invaluable contribution to the ongoing shaping
of her dissertation. (It should be noted that her power-point presentation and
the subsequent lecture on the national languages held the following day (Tuesday
March 21) were not marred or interrupted by the frequent power outages currently
upsetting life and activities in the city of Dakar.)
