Coumba Diop, the coordinator of these books, is a teacher-researcher at
Cheikh anta Diop university in Dakar (UCAD), Senegal. A number of articles
on religious brotherhoods have been published by him as well a recent release,
Le senegal sous Abdou Diouf. Etat de Société, Paris,
Karthala, 1990 [in colaboration with Mamadou Diouf]. He is the co-editor
of the Journal Sociétés-Espaces-Temps. His ongoing research
concern is on the relationships between central and local powers. |

Momar Coumba Diop est chercheur à l'Institut
Fondamental d'Afrique Noire (IFAN) de l'Université Cheikh Anta
Diop de Dakar (Sénégal). Il est l'auteur de plusieurs publications
qui portent sur les confrèries religieuses, la réforme de
l'Etat et la politique sociale au Sénégal. Il travaille
aussi sur un projet d'histoire politique du Jolof. |
