To assist American researchers in their works in Senegal, WARC provides research authorizations that are issued by the Ministry of Scientific Research. In order to obtain this authorization the researcher must submit his or her project proposal to WARC along with its expected duration.
Although housing is not provided, WARC does assist in finding housing facilities for researchers during their stay in Senegal. For students who are planning to continue
a higher education in the United States, WARC offers an Educational Advising
Service (E.A.S.). This section of WARC provides students with all necessary
information on required conditions and documentation when applying to
schools and programs in the United States. Every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m
a video supported session as well as a presentation are held on the American
educational system. This assists students with the entire application
procedure such as identifying various study programs and grant opportunities
as well as for registration and visa issuance. New catalogues with information
regarding registration procedures are available to students, as well as
acceptance by the college or university (for a two-year post baccalaureate
training program ).
A computer room completes documentation for the last contacts with admission
officers. Candidates are allowed access to practice testing in order to
prepare for exams such as the TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, USMLE, GED, APICS.
This assistance continues up to the preparation for the travel, through
meeting with the consulate by providing useful tips for the interview.
Among its activities, a computer training
program has been includeed since May 2001, in order to assist scholars
to facilitate their research.
This progam will enable students and researchers
to be initiated in computer science. The training is encompasses mainly
three areas of computer science: WORD processing MS WORD, MS EXCEL spreadsheet,
and INTERNET.
The center places special emphasis on these three areas that are considered
to be the most essential in terms of computer science. The training is
intended to deliver mastery of computer use for special purposes.
The Prometric Testing Center was established
at WARC in 1998 and is the only permanent Center in the West African region.
It has 3 work stations and a central administrative station. The Center
receives about 30-40 candidates a month for different types of academic
tests namely TOEFL, GMAT, GRE, etc...
It is managed by a test center manager (TCM) who is assisted by a dynamic
and efficient staff of test center administrators (TCA) and proctors who
are providing excellent testing conditions. The exam registrations and
scheduling are made with Prometric South Africa.
WARC dispose en outre d'un service de traduction
et de certification de tous documents spécialement ceux relatifs
à l'éducation (diplômes, attestations, bulletins de
notes ...). Pour cela il suffit de déposer votre document au niveau de
la Bibliothèque qui se chargera de transmettre votre dossier et de vous
fixer un rendez vous.
